How we helped:
As London prepares to welcome its first Waldorf Astoria hotel at the historic Admiralty Arch, specialist construction company Knight Build required premium site accommodation to support the high-profile restoration. Given the building’s iconic location at the heart of the capital, just beside Trafalgar Square, the project came with significant logistical challenges. The solution needed to be installed on a 7-metre-high gantry spanning a live road, with facilities robust enough to support around 350 contract workers over a two-year construction period. For a project of this scale and complexity, Knight Build turned to Portakabin for their trusted expertise and collaborative approach.
Portakabin delivered the solution in just four weeks, beginning with a seven-day installation followed by three weeks of internal fit-out and completion. The site accommodation, designed in close partnership with Knight Build, includes high-specification office and welfare facilities, complete with meeting rooms and drying areas. The modular buildings were installed with precision and care, ensuring no disruption to the bustling surrounding area while providing a safe, comfortable, and efficient workspace. This project not only demonstrates the flexibility and capability of modular construction, but also the importance of trusted partnerships when delivering solutions in complex, urban environments.
